Streess Tests

INDEPENDENT CERTIFICATION - FOR THE PROTECTION OF ALL.

Independent Certification by Australian Vehicle Engineers

Stress Tests by independent engineers are carried out to ensure the design exceeds the requirements for the capacity by a Factor of  3 X..... Plus.

This means a 3.5 Ton Spitfire Trailer is designed to withstand 3,500 x 3 = 10,500 kg.

Thats right, our  3.5 Ton trailer is designed to 10.5 tons.

Now consider this... All Spitfire Braked trailers trailers are built from our exact same 3.5 Ton chassis and our exact same 3.5 Ton Certified draw bar.

This means a Spitfire 2 ton trailer is designed to a Factor of x 5.25 it's ATM

Our 1,500 egg trailer is designed to a Factor of x 7 times it's ATM and our 1,120 kg Spitfire Trailer is designed to a massive Factor X 9.375 times it's legal ATM requirement.

You want tough ?... Spitfire are tough.

Designed for life... built for life.

So Spitfire trailers are usually  manufactured in the following category groups:

Unbraked;

400kg, 600kg and up to 750 kg are un-braked and for these Spitfire Trailers  use our certified 75mm - H Beam design.

H Beam Chassis

All trailers above 750kg need  brakes.

Braked Categories;

1,120kg

1,500kg

1,850kg

2,000kg

2,500kg

3,000kg

3,500kg

Important;

  • For all the above braked categories, Spitfire Trailers are manufactured using the Certified 3.5 Ton, 140mm H Beam even on a 1,120kg trailer.

  • This means that if you are purchasing  a  1,120kg trailer you are getting a trailer chassis, designed, certified and built to 3,500kg .

  • The only difference between that trailer and a 3.5  Ton trailer is the tyres, wheel rims, axle and coupling are lighter capacity to match the lighter load.

This has several advantages to all.

  • You the customer  can be confident  that your rig is not going to destroy that trailer.

  • This is a recipe for confidence, security and upholding resale value.

Does it cost more?

Yes... but Not really.

To use our Certified 3.5 Ton designs on all braked trailers uses a bit more aluminium.

But metal alone is not the main cost factor in production today.

It requires the same amount of holes to be drilled, the same amount of bends, the same amount of bolts etc.

The minor cost in the extra metal is our  insurance, our safeguard for the best quality product for you and for our future.

It is a small price for us to pay and Spitfire Trailers are still extremely competitive with steel trailers.

The Benefits of Certification and aluminium

Strength where you need it.

Strength where you need it.

Strength where you need it.

   "The design fatigue amplitudes are well below the endurance limits, and therefore, the drawbar is suitable for more than 2,000,000 loading cycles."

Independently Certified.

Less weight to tow around.

Strength where you need it.

Strength where you need it.

Manufacturing to independent engineer certification allows Spitfire Aluminium Trailers to be  both strong and light.

Being light increases your payload without the additional cost of going to a higher braked capacity trailer to carry your load.
